Sherry Hixenbaugh is the new titleholder and was crowned in November as Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky 2007.
She is an employee of Jefferson Community College in Louisville. Sherry believes that a positive attitude and determination will take you beyond life's obstacles. She believes everyone has the responsiblity to vote and keep knowledgable concerning political leaders because their decisions on social services can affect your lifestyle.
Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky is available for speaking engagements and appearances and looking forward to an amazing year.
And we cannot forget to say "Thank you!" to our outgoing titleholder, Laura Reynolds, also of Louisville. She was crowned in November 2005 and represented Kentucky in July/August 2006 at the National Pageant in Little Rock, Arkansas. Laura is a dynamic woman who loves sports of every kind. She is a student at Indiana University South studying journalism so that she can feature persons with disabilities and their accomplishments in print. She has a ‘can do’ attitude and her message is that persons with disabilities have the same hopes and dreams as others. They just have to meet those goals using their wheels instead of their legs.
